Abstract
Use of marrow ablative dose of chemotherapy or chemoradiotheraphy followed by marrow infusion for children and young adults with malignant disorders has resulted in increasing number of long-term disease-free survivors. An understanding the late effects of treatment received prior to bone marrow transplantation is important to appreciate and anticipate later influence on growth and development after bone marrow transplantation. We experienced a case of growth hormone deficiency with short stature and hypogonadism without appearance of secondary sexual characteristics after bone
marrow transplantation in an 18 years old boy. He had received prophylactic cranial irradiation under the diagnosis of acute lymphoblastic leukemia at the age of 3 year and testicular irradiation due to testicular relapse at the age of 9 year And he had a history of bone marrow transplantation conditioning with cyclophosphamide and total body
irradiation at the age of 10 year. A brief review of related literatures was also made.
